Throughout his decades-long career, Javier Carmona tasted and knew the world's great wines — Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany, Napa Valley. But whenever he was asked which Spanish wine moved him most, the answer was always the same: Vega Sicilia.
For him, Vega Sicilia was not simply a winery. It was proof that Spain could stand, with full dignity, in the same conversation as the world's greatest. A wine with more than 160 years of history, made without haste, without concessions to the market, without ever losing its soul. Exactly as he believed wine should be made.
