Vega Sicilia Único is the winery's flagship wine and one of the most revered labels in the world. Born in 1864 in Valbuena de Duero (Ribera del Duero), it combines Tempranillo with small percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Its ageing —more than 10 years between barrel and bottle— makes it a wine of extraordinary elegance and exceptional longevity.

The reason is oenological: the ratio between wine and oxygen in the neck of the bottle is more favourable in a magnum, which slows its evolution and allows greater aromatic complexity and a more harmonious structure over time.

The price of Único depends on the vintage and the format. The 0.75 L bottle starts at €400 including VAT, Único Magnum 1.5 L from €915, and the Double Magnum 3 L starts at €3,815. Reserva Especial VTA25 is €530. Prices updated in real time by vintage.
The most highly rated vintages are usually those classified as excellent by the Ribera del Duero Regulatory Council, including 2004, 2010, 2015 and 2019. The choice depends on taste: more recent vintages offer fresh fruit and energy, the classic ones great tertiary complexity. See the Único page for availability.
It is a blend of three vintages carefully selected by Vega Sicilia's winemaker. It carries no harvest year on the label (it is identified by a code such as VTA + two digits). It offers a balanced, rounded expression that reflects the "Único style" without being tied to a single harvest.
Lying horizontally, at a constant 12–16 °C, humidity 60–70%, away from direct light and vibration. Único Magnum can comfortably be kept for 30–50 years in good conditions, and the great vintages even longer.
