Pintia 2017 — Spring frost and a short harvest. Dense, powerful, spicy wines.
Extreme frost and heat: a minimal harvest and a hugely concentrated Pintia. Impenetrable black ink. The nose is dense and sunny —stewed black fruit, liquorice, chocolate, black pepper and a touch of smoked meat— of great intensity. A powerful, glyceric palate with muscular, ripe tannins and a warm, endless finish. The most full-bodied Pintia of the lot; long aeration and big meat dishes. Suitable for ageing.
Around 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing.
Tinta de Toro (local Tempranillo) 100%.
Chargrilled red meats, game, spiced stews and aged sheep's cheeses.
16–18 °C. Decant for at least one hour to open up its aromas.
