Único 2009 — A warm vintage with a short growing cycle. An expressive, fleshy Único with very intense ripe fruit.
A warm, short-cycle year that gives an expressive, fleshy Único. Deep, luminous garnet. A broad, ripe nose of stewed plum and blackberry, fig, cocoa, sweet spices and a balsamic background. On the palate it is glyceric and enveloping, generous in texture, with ripe tannins and a lush, persistent finish. The most sensual, sunny face of Único; very enjoyable already.
More than ten years from harvest to release: six in oak barrels (new and used) and three to four in bottle.
Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) around 95% and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Noble red meats (aged beef, oxtail, big game), black truffle, squab and great aged cheeses.
16–18 °C. Long decanting —at least two hours— for wines with medium ageing; double decanting recommended for older vintages.
