Official authorised distributor. Único is, simply, Spain's most legendary wine. Born in 1864 in Valbuena de Duero, available in 0.75 L bottle and also as Único Magnum 1.5 L and Double Magnum 3 L. See all vintages and the complete Único guide.
The 2015 vintage is considered one of the best of the last decade in Ribera del Duero. A warm, dry summer with cool nights that preserved acidity produced perfectly ripe grapes. The result is a wine of extraordinary density that never loses its characteristic elegance. Aged for more than ten years between French and American oak barrels and then further years in bottle, every sip is a statement of what time and terroir can achieve when worked without haste and without compromise.
Deep, dark ruby red. On the nose, aromas of ripe black fruit — blackberry, plum, cassis — intertwined with notes of cedar, tobacco, fine leather and wet earth. On the palate it is dense, broad and extraordinarily persistent. The tannins, perfectly integrated after years of ageing, give a silky, enveloping texture. The finish is endless.
Roast lamb, big game, red beef or a rib steak from aged cattle. Also sublime with long-matured cheeses. A wine that can accompany a good Havana cigar.
16–18 °C · Uncork 2 hours ahead. Preferably decant.
Ageing potential: until 2050 and beyond.

The 1.5 L Magnum format favours a slower, more refined evolution of Único thanks to a more favourable volume-to-oxygen ratio. It is the format preferred by collectors and sommeliers for cellaring over decades and for exceptional celebrations.
Vega Sicilia Único has an ageing potential of 40–50 years or more depending on the vintage. Único Magnum can be kept even longer. Store lying horizontally at 12–16 °C and 60–70% humidity, away from direct light.
Único pairs beautifully with roast lamb, big game, rib steak from aged cattle, long-matured cheeses and red beef. Serve at 16–18 °C and uncork 2 hours ahead.
